Messcherscmidt Me 262. Built and flown by John Greenfield. The Me 262 broke the sound barrier in April 1945 , before the generally recognized claim of Chuck Yeager in Jan 1946.
Gloster Meteor.
Bell Huey ¼ scale helicopter. 22kg. 650 rpm rotor. Largest model helicopter in Europe. Working lights and electrically fires rockets and smoke canisters. John also built Wellington and the Horten flying wing.
Interview with Top Gun, Ali Machinchy including ASK21 jet turbine powered scale glider. 7m span, 25 kg dry +2 litres paraffin. Very slow in responses, 12 digital servos. Engine fitted in removable pod. Originally intended just to ground launch as did not realise it would be so aerobatic.
Grumman Cougar. Normally carrier based. Airworld, all composite construction. 18.5kg dry + 5 litres paraffin approx 23/24 kg at takeoff. All electronics run through Powerbox system.
Future developments for 2007. 1/3 scale Skyraider, WWll piston radial. 400cc 5 cyl with 42in prop. Span 15’ 130 lbs built by Phil Clark of Fighter Aces.
Mig 21 Airworld kit, AMT Pegasus jet turbine. 16kg thrust. Model 18kg with fuel. Developed post Korean war. 1959 world speed record.
